Buckingham Palace in London has been making elaborate preparations for the ceremony to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.

About 150 people will attend a State Banquet, including English royalty, officials from the UK and China, as well as business leaders from both sides. The dinner will be held in the State Dining Room, where 100 candles will be lit on the banquet table decorated with silver ornaments from the 19th century.

The palace says they began preparations weeks ago. A four-course meal will be served consisting of an appetizer, main course, desert and fruit. Some 20 royal chefs will prepare the meals. But the exact courses are still unknown. They have to be approved by the Queen the day of the dinner.
